Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of he United States of America, Donald Trump held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the 31st ASEAN Summit which is presently underway in Manila, Philippines. "The relations between India and the United States are growing strong and will go beyond. We are working for future interests of Asia and humanity," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the media.
PM Modi added,
“I also feel these relations between India and US they are not just for our mutual interest but they go much beyond that, for the future of Asia and for humanity as a whole in this world.“
On speaking about PM Modi, US President Donald Trump said, “We had him at the White House, he has become a friend of ours and a great gentleman doing a fantastic job. A lot of things were solved in bringing the world together that’s what I hear and that’s good news."
President Trump added,
"A lot of good reports coming out of India, so on that congratulations. It is an honour to be with you.”
Prime Minister Modi and US President Trump met briefly at a gala dinner on Sunday and held discussions on counter-terrorism, trade and the security situation in the Indo-Pacific region. They earlier met when PM Modi visited the US and next, at the G20 Economic Summit.
