The best time to go is from December to March when the humidity is at its lowest and it is cool enough to bask in the sun during the day. You should avoid going here between March and May as the weather gets really hot and humid.

By Air: A flight from Mumbai to Cochin starts at about ₹2,500 one way. The cruise offers pickup and drop from Cochin International Airport as a part of the package.

By Road: The lake is situated at a distance of about 50 km from Cochin city and is easily accessible by road. Regular buses and taxes ply daily from the city and it takes about 1.5-2 hours to reach.

By Train: Kottayam serves as the nearest railway station with trains from all major cities plying here regularly.
