In a major victory for the security forces, another Lasker-e-Toiba terrorist has voluntarily surrendered to the forces in Kulgam. Nasir Ahmad Dhar a resident of South Kashmir's Kulgam area walked into a police station to lay down his arms, he is presently being counselled by the SP of the local station.
This is the second such case being reported in a span of three days, earlier Majid Khan had complied with his family's appeals to surrender and return to mainstream life.
As in the case Majid Khan, no charges will be pressed against Nasir as well and all attempts will be made to rehabilitate him giving him a chance of living a normal life with his family. In Nasir's case too, it was the emotional appeal of his mother posted on social media that was heeded and the terrorist decided to surrender after joining the LeT ranks in August this year.
The security forces are attributing terrorists surrendering to the impact of social media being utilized by the friends and family of local boys being recruited as terrorists by the Pakistan sponsored terror outfits across the valley.
The surrender comes on a day when the National Investigating Agency has reached South Kashmir and is set to hold detailed discussions with the SSP police with regards to information being sought for nefarious activities sprouting from the valley.
NIA already has two stone pelters in custody along with Hurriyat leaders in the Tihar jail who are helping the agency by providing crucial information.
