Minutes ahead of liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s pre-trial hearing in the United Kingdom, Republic TV’s Prema Sridevi has accessed exclusive details of Mallya’s strategy in Court. The information reveals how Mallya, who faces trouble from all quarters, will now be attempting to discredit the CBI in Court by using views of a professor from the United Kingdom.
Professor Lawrence Sáez was approached by Mallya’s lawyers and asked to give an 'expert opinion' regarding his extradition. Based on his opinion, Mallya will be making a case against the extradition and has incorporated the same in his affidavit. Mallya will be using his opinion to show not only that the investigative agency is compromised but also to discredit the CBI's chargesheet against him. The liquor baron has blamed both the CBI and ED for 'lack of integrity and independence'.
The pre-trial hearing of the extradition plea concerning fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, wanted for non-repayment of thousands of crores worth of loans from a consortium of banks, fraud and money laundering cases will begin in a UK court on Monday.
