Merely a day after BJP Bihar Chief Nityanand Rai took back his statements that any finger or hand raised at Prime Minister Narendra Modi ought to be "broken or chopped off", former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi made a controversial comment at the national council meeting of RJD.
While speaking at the event where Lalu Prasad was declared national president of RJD 10th time in a row, she said,
“Wo log kehte hain, Narendra Modi pe ungli uthayenge to ungli tod denge, haath kaat denge. Kaat ke dhikao. Pure desh ke log, Bihar ke log kya chup baithe rahenge? Yahan Modi ka haath kaatne waale, gala kaatne wale bohot log khade hain.”
The raging controversy had forced Rai to express regret and retract his comment saying he was making use of an idiom and his words were not to be taken literally.
Former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, who has so far skipped appearance before Enforcement Directorate despite numerous summons in cases related to benami property, on Tuesday said she could not be "cowed down" by the central investigating agencies whose "character" she knew well.
