In a desperate attempt to keep its Gujarat MLAs within the party fold, the Congress, on Friday, herded 44 state lawmakers to Bengaluru.
The intention was to keep them from resigning and worse, defecting to the BJP. Towards this end, the MLAs were shipped off to Eagleton - The Golf Village, a resort roughly an hour's drive from central Bengaluru on the Mysore highway.
At the resort, the visitors may expect, "A kaleidoscope of favourite pastimes, dining and leisure facilities in a picturesque setting. The whole (Congress) family can share in the camaraderie and congeniality....", the resort's website says.
Camaraderie and congeniality, given the Congress' current predicament, is the order of the day.
