It may not have been a run-away box-office success but Ashwini Iyer Tiwary's latest romantic comedy 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' has received an unprecendented reception from critics and film-goers. The latest among the list of high-profile individuals who showered praise on the film include Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Smriti Irani. Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Irani wrote, "Congrats Ashwiny Iyer. Brilliant work by entire team especially Rajkummar Rao and Bitti's parents. Dialogues were a class apart."
Earlier, The crew of Bareilly Ki Barfi were in for a surprise when they found rare praise from Superstar Amitabh Bachchan himself, who described it as a "delightful" film.
The cast of the film, on their part, were delighted with this unexpected form of praise from the superstar himself, who also sent a bouquet along with a handwritten note praising the work of actors Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao.
Meanwhile, trade analysts have stated that the film has had a "steady" run at the box-office so far, having collected Rs 24.67 Crore in India since its release on August 18.
