Debuted at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto show, the India spec 2017 Ford EcoSport is set to be launched on October 29, 2017. The car gets major cosmetic updates and a bunch of new features. The new EcoSport is also likely to come with Ford's new Dragon series engine. Facelift includes a new grille, revised projector headlamps, new angular fog-lamps, day-time running LEDs and a new front and rear bumper. The new raised muscular hood gives the car a wider and bigger appearance along with the sporty set of allow wheels add a whole new character to the SUV. At the rear, noticeable changes include a re-positioned licence plate and an all-new spare wheel cover for the India spec. However, the profile of the new car remains unchanged.
On the inside, the car gets revised upholstery, a new stick out display for the touchscreen infotainment system which will come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and of course Ford's in-car connectivity system, SYNC3. The instrument cluster and steering wheel are also all-new and the cabin gets body-coloured inserts instead of the silver ones in the current model. It is also excepted to get a cruise control, speed-limiter function, a rear-view camera and automatic climate control.
The India made 2017 Ford Ecosport will be shipped to the US markets too. The sub-compact SUV will lock horns with the market leader, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, as well as the TUV 300 and the newly launched Tata Nexon.
