The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Thursday celebrated Diwali with the jawans of Indian Army and BSF, in the Gurez Valley, near the Line of Control, in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the fourth consecutive Diwali that the Prime Minister is celebrating with the forces.
The Prime Minister also exchanged sweets with the Jawans and while addressing the group in Gurez, he also said that he wanted to celebrate Diwali with 'Family' and that he considers the forces to be 'his family'. PM Modi also said he gets new energy when he spends time among the jawans and soldiers of the Armed Forces. He appreciated their penance and sacrifice, amid harsh conditions.
Prime Minister Modi was certainly glad to hear that the forces practiced yoga on a daily basis and said that yoga would definitely enhance their abilities and give them a sense of calm. He also pointed out that jawans who leave the forces after completing their tenure can become excellent yoga trainers in the future.
He also encouraged the Jawans to innovate in order to make their routines more easier and safer. He also said on behalf of the government that they are committed to the welfare and the betterment of the Armed Forces.
